Welcome to the "HANSA" rowing club in Bremen, Germany.
The state of Bremen lies in the north-west of Germany and consists of two cities, Bremen and Bremerhaven, with a population of more than half a million people.
Bremen contains many attractions and is well known for being the destination of the Town Musicians (from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same name), being the home of the internationally renowned Beck's beer and for having one of the most beautiful town squares in Germany (the "Marktplatz").
It is a vibrant commercial city, containing a major Mercedes-Benz production facility, the Beck's brewery and numerous aerospace and high-tech companies. It
also has a very rich maritime and trading history.

The Clubhouse
The clubhouse is located on the river Weser, ten minutes by foot from the centre of town. It includes a licensed bar and restaurant, boatshed and training room with rowing machines and weight training facilities.
Weather permitting, you can also have your meal or drinks on the terrace overlooking the river.
Rowing Beginner
There are many opportunities for rowing within the club suited to the needs of each individual.
These include:
racing,
social rowing,
beginner courses (held during the spring and summer) and touring ("Wanderfahrt" - long distance tours ranging from single-day to week-long trips).
The river Weser provides extensive opportunities for rowing, being one of the major rivers in northern Germany. In addition, three hundred meters from the clubhouse lies the Werdersee, a sheltered arm of the Weser that provides 9km of waterway with negligible current and no motorboat traffic. There are also good possibilities for rowing tours on some the nearby rivers (namely the Ochtum, Hamme, Wümme and Lesum).
